The Firm

A boutique international law firm for companies, founders, funds and investors operating across Argentina, the United States and Latin America.

Based in Buenos Aires, Jarsun, Ferreira & Calvo advises companies, founders and venture capital funds on cross-border transactions, international disputes and regulated growth. Our team includes attorneys admitted in Argentina and New York, with experience in ICSID proceedings and other international forums.

Our story

Jarsun, Ferreira & Calvo began with two paths that crossed far from Buenos Aires. Juan Ferreira and Francisco Calvo met in the United States as Fulbright scholars, during their LL.M. studies at Fordham and Columbia. Lara Jarsun and Francisco spent years working together in international arbitration, on investment cases before ICSID and commercial arbitrations under ICC and UNCITRAL rules.

In 2025 we brought the two practices together in a single firm. The reason is easy to state and hard to find in the market: cross-border business, arbitration and complex litigation are connected. A poorly structured deal ends in a dispute, and a dispute is won or lost on how the deal was structured. At large firms that connection sits scattered across departments. We built a boutique around it.

The team's training backs that bet. Lara read international relations and political science at the London School of Economics, where she is now an Assistant Professor. And the investment arbitration practice is completed by Osvaldo Guglielmino as of counsel: former Attorney General of the Argentine Treasury, the office that directs Argentina's defense before ICSID.

How we work

Every matter is read across jurisdictions from day one.

Argentine law, U.S. law and the relevant international frameworks enter the analysis together. In a cross-border matter, looking at a single jurisdiction means seeing half the problem.

We work where regulation and business move together.

We advise fintechs, startups, funds and companies where regulation, contracts and commercial execution have to advance as one.

The partner who takes the case is the one who works it.

There are no layers between the client and the judgment. The person who knows the file, the strategy and the commercial context is the same partner who picks up the phone.

Deals and disputes feed each other.

We structure contracts knowing how they get litigated, and we litigate knowing how deals are put together. That back and forth flags risk before it turns into conflict.
