Lara Jarsun

Lara Jarsun is a founding partner at Jarsun, Ferreira & Calvo, where she leads the firm's international arbitration and cross-border litigation practice. She is admitted to practice law in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Lara represents sovereign states and corporate clients in international arbitration proceedings under the rules of ICSID (CIADI), the ICSID Additional Facility, UNCITRAL (CNUDMI) and the ICC (CCI). Her practice covers bilateral investment treaty disputes, international commercial arbitration and litigation across multiple jurisdictions in Latin America, Europe and the United States. She also advises public and private entities on dispute prevention, regulatory compliance and the structuring of cross-border transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and international financings.

Before founding Jarsun, Ferreira & Calvo, Lara represented sovereign states in investment and commercial arbitration proceedings at a firm with an active ICSID and UNCITRAL ad hoc tribunal practice in Buenos Aires. She previously handled judicial, administrative and arbitral proceedings at a top-tier Argentine law firm. Earlier in her career, she worked in international human rights litigation and served on a United Nations investigative mechanism focused on international criminal law.

Lara teaches at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, where she holds positions in Introduction to Law and Administrative Law, and has taught Public International Law at the London School of Economics. She competed in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, where her team placed second and sixth globally and she received the national best oralist award.
