Lara Jarsun

Lara Jarsun is a founding partner of Jarsun, Ferreira & Calvo and co-leads the firm's International Arbitration and Cross-Border Litigation practices. Her practice focuses on complex international disputes, including investment arbitration, commercial arbitration and multijurisdictional litigation on behalf of sovereign states and corporate clients. She is admitted to practice in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and serves as an Assistant Professor at the London School of Economics (LSE).

Lara represents sovereign states and corporate clients in investment and commercial arbitrations under the ICSID Convention, the ICSID Additional Facility Rules, the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules and the ICC Rules. She also acts in cross-border litigation and disputes involving multiple jurisdictions across Latin America, Europe and the United States.

Her practice also includes preventive advice on transactions and contractual relationships involving potential international exposure, including the structuring of dispute resolution mechanisms and the assessment of risks associated with investments, joint ventures and other cross-border transactions.

Before founding Jarsun, Ferreira & Calvo, Lara practiced at leading law firms in Buenos Aires, where she represented sovereign states and companies in investment and commercial arbitrations, as well as in complex judicial and administrative proceedings. Her international experience also includes work on international human rights litigation and with a United Nations investigative mechanism involving international criminal law.

Lara teaches Introduction to Law and Administrative Law at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, and at the London School of Economics she teaches Public International Law. She also participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, where her teams placed second and sixth worldwide, and she was recognized as Best Oralist in the Argentine national rounds.
