Juan Ferreira

Juan is a founding partner at Jarsun, Ferreira & Calvo, where he leads the firm's fintech regulation and cross-border corporate practice. He is admitted to practice law in New York, United States, and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Juan advises fintech companies, crypto platforms, startups, venture capital funds and institutional investors on regulatory compliance, licensing and corporate structuring in cross-border transactions between Latin America and the United States. His fintech regulatory work covers money transmitter licensing and Money Service Business (MSB) registration in the U.S., and Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) and Payment Service Provider (PSP) registration before Argentina's Central Bank (BCRA) and Securities Commission (CNV).

Juan advises startups and investment funds across all stages of venture financing, from pre-seed and seed rounds through Series A and exit structuring. He works with instruments such as SAFEs, KISS and convertible notes, adapting their legal structure to transactions involving investors and entities across multiple jurisdictions.

Juan also has experience in the negotiation and management of commercial, technology and SaaS contracts, intellectual property licenses and vendor agreements. He has advised product and compliance teams on data privacy, consumer protection and labor law matters.

Before founding Jarsun, Ferreira & Calvo, Juan served as lead counsel at a U.S.-based fintech company, where he ran the legal function for the financial services division and led the company's multi-state licensing strategy. Previously, he spent close to a decade as legal counsel at a government institution in Buenos Aires, handling public procurement, regulatory drafting and litigation. He began his career in private practice, advising on company formation, M&A transactions and commercial disputes.
