Francisco Calvo
Partner
Francisco Calvo is a founding partner at Jarsun, Ferreira & Calvo, where he leads the firm's investment arbitration and international dispute resolution practice. He is admitted to practice law in New York, United States, and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Francisco represents sovereign states, state-owned enterprises and corporate clients in investment treaty arbitration and international commercial arbitration under the rules of the ICC (CCI), ICSID (CIADI), the ICSID Additional Facility and UNCITRAL (CNUDMI). He has conducted direct and cross-examinations of fact and expert witnesses before international arbitral tribunals. His practice also covers litigation across multiple jurisdictions in Latin America and the United States, regulatory compliance and the structuring of cross-border transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and international financings.
Before founding Jarsun, Ferreira & Calvo, Francisco represented sovereign states and state-owned enterprises in investment and commercial arbitration proceedings — in both English and Spanish — at a firm with an active ICSID and UNCITRAL ad hoc tribunal practice in Buenos Aires. He also served at a first instance court in Buenos Aires, where he drafted judicial decisions in administrative, regulatory, tax, environmental and public health matters and conducted witness examinations. He completed an internship at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), where he worked on petition processing and attended sessions before the Commission.
Francisco teaches Public International Law at Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), where he has held a faculty position since 2014 and was appointed adjunct professor in 2024.
