Lara Jarsun Coached at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in New Delhi
Our partner Lara Jarsun served as coach for the Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) team during the national rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, held in New Delhi, India. The tournament was organized by the International Law Students Association (ILSA) in collaboration with Jindal Global Law School (JGLS).
The Jessup is the world's largest and oldest international law moot court competition. Each year it brings together teams from law schools in over 100 countries, who prepare and argue a fictional case before the International Court of Justice. India's national rounds, given the volume of participating universities, are one of the most competitive stages of the global circuit.

Lara worked for several months with the HPNLU team, composed of students Shivam Kapoor, Bani Chahal, Purab Sharma, Vanshika Bangar and Kanishk Sharma. The preparation process covered case analysis, drafting of written memorials and oral advocacy training, with a focus on highly complex public international law issues.
"It was a privilege to work with a group of students of remarkable legal talent. Their dedication and ability to tackle complex international law problems were exceptional. Beyond the legal work, one of the most valuable dimensions of this experience was the opportunity to meet the team in person, learn about their perspectives and culture, and see once again how truly international the public international law community is," Lara said.

Lara's participation as a coach at the Jessup reflects JFC's commitment to training new generations of international lawyers and the firm's active presence in global academic forums. Lara's experience in international litigation and arbitration, combined with her background in international relations and politics (London School of Economics), allowed her to bring a practical perspective to the team's training, connecting the case problems with the reality of professional practice before international tribunals.
We congratulate Shivam, Bani, Kanishk, Purab and Vanshika on their performance, and extend special thanks to Sri Mahalakshmi Peddi, HPNLU's university liaison, for her support throughout the national rounds.
